Hail Creek mine is a large scale, long-life open cut operation, located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the northern Bowen Basin region of central Queensland. With a mine life for 20+ years, production nearing 10 million tonnes per year and producing both coking and thermal coal products, Hail Creek is one of the premier coal mines in Australia. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the mine plan. As a key leader on site, you will use your experience and knowledge to manage risks, control costs, and drive the productivity of your team. A natural leader with the ability to provide strong and visible leadership to your team, you will be the key person providing leadership and guidance to the Mining Operations team. You will play an integral part in the senior leadership team and contribute to driving a successful, constructive culture at Hail Creek. Your innovative leadership style will enable you to meet and exceed targets, whilst ensuring all mining activities are conducted in accordance with mine plans, HSEC, legislative and statutory requirements. Extensive operational experience in an open cut environment is essential. You will be a proven performer in managing large teams in a complex environment. Ideally you will either currently hold the qualification of Site Senior Executive (SSE), or be committed to obtaining an SSE competency in applying for the role.
