OBJECTIVE OF THIS ROLE
The role of the Coordinator Project Delivery is to develop, assist and manage a project delivery
program that ensures council projects are delivered in an efficient and timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE
1. Develop Delivery Program. Develop capital project delivery program in conjunction with
project owners and managers.
2. Contracts. Coordinate and assist in the preparation and administration of tenders and
contracts for works under the capital works program.
3. Supervise Construction Works delivered by contract. Act as client and/or
superintendent for contractor delivered works.
4. Monitor and Report. Monitor and report on program, identifying variations, impacts and
mitigations.
5. Standards and Templates. Establish a suite of standard documents and templates for use
in delivery of projects from initial scope to final close out.
6. Strategic Procurement. Develop strategies for bundling of capital works projects with a
view to reduce the overall delivery cost.

7. People Management. Lead, motivate, develop and support the team to deliver service
excellence.
Additionally, this position may be required to conduct other duties as lawfully directed by the
reporting manager.
ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Mandatory:
- Significant experience in the development and implementation of both short and long term
- Substantial experience in the design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure
- Thorough knowledge of road, stormwater, water, sewerage design and construction
- Significant experience in administration of contracts as related to the delivery of works.
- Proficient use of the full suite of Microsoft programs; particularly Project and Excel.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ recent and relevant experience in the same or similar role.
Desirable:
- Experience in a Local Government environment. Knowledge of council operations,
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCES REQUIRED
Mandatory:
- Tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Engineering - Civil).
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
Desirable:
- Post graduate qualification in Project Management.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Demonstrated strong attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to methodically problem
solve.
2. Demonstrated experience with civil design, construction techniques and standards as
applied to fit for purpose infrastructure assets.
3. Extensive knowledge of road, stormwater, water, sewerage design and construction
specifications.
4. Demonstrated ability to deal with customers at all levels in a professional and courteous
manner to achieve successful outcomes.
5. Demonstrated experience in procurement requirements and practices and the application
and management of contracts for civil works.
