Hail Creek Open Cut is seeking a self-driven, results orientated Mining Improvement Superintendent to support our Mining Operations team on site. Hail Creek is a large scale open cut coal mine located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the northern Bowen Basin mining region of central Queensland. With a long mine life of 20+ years, producing both metallurgical and thermal coal products, Hail Creek is an inclusive workplace with a focus on safety, efficiency and productivity.

Reporting to the Mining Manager, as the Mining Improvement Superintendent you will be accountable for designing and executing business improvement projects to enhance operational efficiencies and equip our mining teams to deliver sustainable high performance production results. With a drive for continuous improvement and innovation, you will enhance mining processes and practices to advance performance, safety and productivity of the mining fleet.

With extensive knowledge and experience of mining practices and a broader understanding of open cut mining, you are a solutions focused, pragmatic leader with the ability to upskills large scale teams in a complex mining environment. You have the ability to influence stakeholders, challenge the norm and implement change, bringing everyone along on the journey to understand the benefits they will deliver.
