Are you an emerging leader that can deliver? Do you have the natural ability to complete projects from start to finish? We are seeking an Electrical & Hazardous Areas Lead Engineer / Project Manager for projects in the Bowen and Surat Basins.
What are we looking for?
- Electrical and hazardous areas experience within the coal / gas environment
- A clear ability to plan and meet project schedule milestones
- 2-5 years’ experience in electrical and & hazardous areas engineering (design, classification, install & commissioning supervision).
- Competency in costings, quotes, project management, detailed design, invoicing, control of subordinates/contractors
- In depth experience of AutoCAD Electrical
- Calm, patient, determined disposition with a good sense of humour
What can you provide?
- Ability to become a QLD Accredited HA Auditor
- Able to travel throughout QLD (primarily Surat and Bowen Basins)
- Project Management competencies
- Valid QLD Driver’s Licence
- Electrical / Instrumentation apprenticeship with formal Electrical Engineering qualifications – RPEQ preferred
- Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Licence – preferred
- Residential base in Mackay surrounds
About the Position:
Reporting to the Specialised Services Manager the Lead Engineer/Project Manager is accountable for the safe delivery of assigned Hazardous Area and Electrical Projects across a variety of industries and locations. With a focus on zero harm to employees and contractors, this role will provide leadership to clients and subordinates including contractors, and control of the day to day assigned projects activities.
Key technical requirements of the role include hazardous area classifications & design, site installation oversight, electrical schematic and single line diagrams development and sign off, consultancy reports, Key management skills sought include cost estimating & proposals, invoicing, adherence to and assisting in the development of systems and process – hence formal project management competencies will be highly regarded.
The ability to maintain and cultivate ongoing client relationships will help this role develop over time.
