Measuring Business Confidence in Central Highlands

Posted: 17th Feb

A new survey will take the temperature of the Central Highlands’ economic climate in 2020.

The Central Highlands Development Corporation (CHDC) has launched its Business Confidence Survey today to measure expectations of regional business conditions and acquire a better understanding of local issues affecting business profitability and growth.

The survey, which takes about five minutes, can be found at chdc.com.au and participants go into the draw to win two tickets to one of CHDC’s upcoming business forums.

The survey can be completed anonymously and is open to anyone who owns or operates a business in the Central Highlands region.

“It’s imperative for CHDC to understand the unique opportunities and challenges that face the Central Highlands business community and what better way to do that than to go straight to the source,” CHDC Chief Executive Officer Sandra Hobbs says.

“The information will help us pinpoint what’s helping and what’s hindering business success and growth, and identify any opportunities to improve and expand the services CHDC provides to the business community.

“It’s also important to be armed with solid data specific to the Central Highlands when advocating for the region to government, investors and other major stakeholders.”

Owners and operators from all business and industry sectors are encouraged to participate.

“This is your opportunity to tell us exactly what it’s like doing business in the Central Highlands and to help CHDC enhance its work to drive growth in the region,” Ms Hobbs says.

“It’s crucial that we get as many responses as possible to ensure the data is an accurate reflection of the local business community’s views and experiences.”

The survey will be open for four weeks until 5:00pm Monday, 16 March and findings will be made public.

This is CHDC’s second Business Confidence Survey, the first of which was conducted in 2018.

The survey complements CHDC’s upcoming Economic Futures Forum, which aims to assist business operators to rise to the challenges and opportunities of the changing economic landscape.
