The Curragh Mine is in the unique position in that is has two (2) large Coal Handling Preparation Plant’s (CHPP’s) where a number of different metallurgical products are produced.

About the Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer to work at the Curragh Mine.  This is a permanent role reporting to the Superintendent Processing.

In this role you will be critically reviewing CHPP performance and identifying, designing and delivering permanent process improvements within the CHPP’s. You will assist the rest of the Process Team in their regular tasks but remain focused on longer term projects. You will also ensure a continuity of information and work progress to support shift Process Engineers.

The overall objective of the position is to work with the broader operations and maintenance teams to increase coal recovery, improve plant reliability and reduce operational cost of the CHPP’s.

Requirements

A Tertiary qualification in Process/Chemical Engineering, Minerals Processing or Metallurgy is a requirement to be successful in these roles. Experience in CHPP operations would be beneficial but not essential.

Additionally, you will have:

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
• Be proficient in data analysis and interpretation; and
• The ability to work autonomously and be task oriented.
